Suppose the left fielder starts talking to the fans in foul territory. Before he can get back onto the field in fair territory, the pitcher throws a strike to the next batter. What call does the umpire make?
See Answer below
The catcher is the only player allowed to be in foul territory at the time of a pitch. If any other player is in foul territory at the time of a pitch the umpire may rule an illegal pitch. With a runner on base, that means any pitch made is a balk.
